NEW! The 4th Annual Tiger Trot hits the track on Wednesday, October 15! We’re aiming to raise $40,000 to fuel amazing programs, teacher grants, and all-school fun—every student gets a T-shirt and a chance to shine. Register your Tiger today (they can win prizes just for signing up!) and consider stepping up as a sponsor to cheer us toward the finish line!

NEW! Donations of paper grocery bags needed! We use 8 paper bags a day for our cafeteria composting stations.  Please send in your paper bags!  Please note that paper bags from Whole Foods and Fresh Thyme are too short for our composting bins and cannot be used in our composting bins.  Also, paper bags that have labels on them (ex, from a grocery delivery service) cannot be used in the composting bins either.  Thank you!

NEW!  Donut Day!  Donut Day is approaching quickly - Friday, October 10th at 8:00 am on our Tonawanda playground!  Both parking lots will be available for parking, however our south lot near the new gym will need to be cleared at 8:30 AM. We need volunteers to help with the event.  Please sign up here to help: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0945ABAB2AAAFDCF8-59020679-tonawanda

NEW! Lost & Found:  Our Lost & Found is growing exponentially!  Please remember to label all jackets, hoodies, lunch boxes, water bottles, etc so we can reunite items with their owners.  If your student is missing an item, please have them check lost & found.  Parents are also welcome to come in during the school day to look for any lost items.  Thank you!

ONLINE Book Shopping is still open!  Thank you for making our school’s PTO Scholastic Book Fair the Best. Fair. Ever! As a direct result of your support and enthusiasm, we sold hundreds of books at our in person fair last Friday, September 12th. We raised over $1,644.59 for the Tonawanda PTO and accrued additional Scholastic rewards including $83.72 in “Share the Fair” donations.  If your child missed out on the Fair (or already finished every new book), there’s still time to shop! Our Book Fair continues online through September 28th. Every online purchase during this window also directly benefits our school with 25% of sales going to our PTO. Click here to shop our school’s Fair online until September 28th: https://www.scholastic.com/bf/tonawandaelemschool

Please return the Welcome to Tonawanda yard signs to the bin outside of our main entrance as soon as possible.  We reuse these signs to welcome students and families each fall.  Thank you for your help in returning the signs for next year!

Action- Needed! This is an ANNUAL task to complete!  If you have not signed up for the PTO student directory, please sign up your family for the student directory using this link. The school is unable to provide information to other families, so this is your best route to be in the know with our PTO Room Parents, connect with Tonawanda families, arrange playdates, send invitations to school friends, etc. Please sign up by September 26, 2025 to be included.

NEW! Background Check Process for Volunteers!  We love  our family/parent/grandparent volunteers!  In hopes that we will be able to welcome you all back in to help out this upcoming school year, we wanted to share the process for becoming a volunteer in our schools.  Please see https://www.elmbrookschools.org/departments/human-resources/how-to-volunteer-in-elmbrook for all the information including completing our district's volunteer background check process.  You will need to renew this process every two years.  It is a great idea to get this task done over the summer as there is an approximate two week processing time before you are able to volunteer in our school. Thank you!
