Please return WELCOME TO TONAWANDA yard signs! We reuse the signs each year for our new families, so please return them to Tonawanda. There will be a bin under the front entrance awning. Thank you for your help in this!

NEW! Student Photo Make-Up and Retake Day is scheduled for Wednesday, September 30 during the students' school day. If your child did not get their picture taken in late August during Strong Start conference days, please plan to have them have their picture taken on Wednesday, September 30th. Or if you do not like the way your child's picture turned out, you are welcome to have your child retake their photo. Please send in the unwanted photos to the photographer on Wednesday, September 30th. Even if you do not want to order a photo package, we love to have all our students pictured, especially for our yearbook. A yearbook is included with any photo package or you may order just a yearbook.

NEW! PTO Culver's Dine-Out on Wednesday, September 30 from 4-8 PM! Please join Tonawanda families for our next PTO Dine-Out at Culver's in Elm Grove, 15280 W. Bluemound Rd. A percentage of sales returns to our Tonawanda PTO. Thank you for your support. Flyer linked here.

NEW! PTO Spirit Wear Update Thank you to everyone who ordered spirit wear! Orders are currently being filled and typically take 3 to 4 weeks. We expect items to be ready for pickup or sent home with students during the first week of October. Stay tuned for exact pickup details and dates coming soon!

NEW! Our PTO Scholastic Book Fair was a GREAT success! From our sales at the Scholastic Book Fair last Friday night at the Back to School Bash, our PTO will receive over $1500. Thank you for your purchases and support of our Tonawanda PTO!

PTO Donut Day is scheduled for Friday, September 25th at 8 AM on our Tonawanda playground! Both parking lots will be available for parking, however our South lot near the new gym will need to be cleared at 8:30 AM.  We invite an adult to accompany their child(ren) and join us for a morning of donuts, coffee, and fun. See this flyer for all the details.

NEW! Student Safety Presentations were shared in our classrooms yesterday, Thursday, September 17th. Our teachers do a great job of presenting these safety topics at the just right level of their students. The presentation is linked here if you'd like to review it or review it with your children. This is an annual expectation to prepare our students for the several safety drills we do every school year.

Accurate Student Attendance is important. Please communicate your child's absence from school by 8:30 AM to your child's teacher AND our attendance office at tonattendance@elmbrookschools.org.

Medical Documentation for Medical Appointments If your child has a doctor or dentist appointment during the school day, please email the medical excuse to our Attendance Secretary Denise Portz at tonattendance@elmbrookschools.org. With this documentation, the absence is medically excused and doesn't count towards the ten days that parents/guardians are allowed to excuse their children from school (per WI Statute 118.15(3)(d). Thank you!

Student Medication- An adult is needed for a medication drop-off to our health room. If your child takes medication during the school day, please be sure to bring it in between 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM. Children are not allowed to transport the medication. Thank you for your understanding.

Our school day begins promptly at 8:50 AM. Students are marked tardy if they are not in their classrooms at 8:50 AM. We have outside supervision on the playground beginning at 8:30 AM and the students will come into the building at 8:42 AM to prepare for the day. Student arrival into the school after 8:50 AM results in your child(ren) being marked tardy. On time student arrival to school is important.

Student Arrival and Student Dismissal  Consistent plans for student arrival and dismissal are important. No matter if your child(ren) will be riding the bus, walking/riding bikes, or family drop-off/pick-up, we encourage you to keep as consistent dismissal plans as possible.

Changes in student dismissal plans.  We understand that there will be days that you have a change to your child's dismissal plan. Please email your child's teacher and Michelle Kiese at kiesem@elmbrookschools.org as early as possible, but by noon at the latest. If you need to make last minute changes, please call our office at 262-785-3950 and/or email, but please be sure that you get confirmation that we are aware of the change. Our teachers are teaching and working with our students so do not check their emails often during the day so it may be missed.

Students may arrive on school property at 8:30 AM. Please do not have your children arrive any earlier as we do not have supervision before 8:30 AM.  We have outside supervision on the playground beginning at 8:30 AM. There is a bell at 8:42 AM and at that time, the students will come into the building to prepare for the start of the school day at 8:50 AM.

A document with detailed descriptions and visuals of our arrival and dismissal is linked here.
