NEW!  Registration Link included!  Tonawanda is excited to announce we will be having a Girls on the Run team this spring! GOTR is an afterschool program for 3rd-5th grade girls that focuses on building confidence, learning how to navigate friendships and making healthy choices, all while preparing to complete a non-competitive 5k at American Family Field. The program takes place twice a week starting March 23rd and ends with the celebratory 5k on May 31st. During these weeks, girls will meet on Mondays AND Wednesdays from 3:45-5:00PM at the school (they will not meet during spring break). Trained volunteer coaches will take the girls through a curriculum centered around uplifting the whole person including topics centered around being a good friend, peer pressure, body confidence, and setting/following through with goals. They will also complete a community impact project as a team. Registration is open from February 16- 22 and There are 15 spots available. If more than 15 girls register, the team will be selected through a computerized lottery system on March 3. Registration cost, which includes the participant's 5k registration, is $198/participant. Any participant can request financial support during the registration process and it will be granted immediately. Because each practice builds on the previous, it works best if all participants plan to attend both practices each week. Please reach out to Bethany Seeboth (bethanyseeboth@gmail.com or 262-909-7289) if you have any questions.
